1. Data Storage & Sync
Fermenta stores your brew, custom flavor, SCOBY hotel, and app preference data locally on your device.
When iCloud access for Fermenta is available, brew, custom flavor, and SCOBY hotel data syncs automatically through Apple CloudKit to a private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account.
Syncing requires you to be signed in to iCloud and to allow Fermenta to use iCloud.
If iCloud is unavailable or disabled, Fermenta continues to work with local data. Pending changes can sync when iCloud becomes available again.
2. Data We Store
Fermenta stores the content you create within the app, including:
- Brew batches and recipes
- Ingredients, quantities, bottle groups, and flavors
- Dates, fermentation stages, and progress
- Notes, stage-specific logs, and SCOBY hotel records
Fermenta also stores your settings, reminder preferences, onboarding progress, tips state, and game high score on the device. Brew reminders are local notifications scheduled by iOS.
This data is used only to provide app functionality. Fermenta does not sell your personal data.
3. Diagnostics
Fermenta automatically uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix crashes and stability issues.
Crash reports can include stack traces, pseudonymous installation identifiers, the crash time, device model, operating system and app version, and technical app state. Fermenta does not intentionally attach your brew content or contact details to crash reports, and does not use diagnostics for advertising or tracking.
4. Tracking
Fermenta does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
The app does not use App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and does not request tracking permission.
5. Third-Party Services
Fermenta relies on the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit): Automatically syncs brew, custom flavor, and SCOBY hotel data through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: Receives crash diagnostics and pseudonymous installation identifiers to diagnose stability issues.
- RevenueCat: Manages Fermenta Pro purchases and restores using an anonymous app user ID, device and app information, and App Store transaction or receipt information. Fermenta does not receive your full payment details.
These providers process only the data needed for their services. Fermenta requires them to protect that data consistently with this policy and applicable law; their own privacy policies also apply.
6. Your Control
You can delete batches, custom flavors, and SCOBY hotel records in Fermenta. Deleting the app removes data stored only on that device. To stop future iCloud syncing, turn off Fermenta in iCloud settings; synced data can be managed or deleted from iCloud storage settings.
Firebase states that Crashlytics retains crash stack traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before removal begins. RevenueCat retains purchase records as needed to provide purchases and restores and meet legal obligations. Email support to request help with deletion or other privacy choices; some transaction records may need to be retained.
7. Contact
If you email support, Fermenta receives your email address and the information you include. It is used only to respond and troubleshoot, and retained only as needed to handle your request. Contact:
